Amy

So, Jenny, where do you buy creme de leite in Kansas City? Is there some purveyor of Brazilian foods?

Jenny V.

Well, if you would have asked me a year ago, I would have been able to answer my Brazilian grocery store located west of the plaza at 47th and Holly. For over 5 years, my mother-in-law and I owned the Brazilian Cargo Company, and sold by the bushelful, creme de leite. You can find the "Mexican" version of this in most ethnic grocery store aisles now (Mexican Price Chopper, Hen House etc.), which to my American palate tastes almost the same as the Brazilian, but Brazilians will swear they taste a difference. The Mexican brand you will easily find is Nestle, Media Crema (Table Cream).
