Today, November 12th, 2014 marks a new day for JJ's Restaurant. The restaurant will open to the public for dinner after the ribbon cutting ceremony tonight at 5 pm. As we all look forward to celebrating the new location, we know these things to be true.
We know we will never forget the old JJ's and the good times we had in that building and at that bar.
We know we will never forget the shock and horror of seeing it burn, and the sadness of losing one of our own, Megan Cramer, in the blaze.
We acknowledge the empathy we still feel for all of the employees that were injured in the blast.
But we know, as we celebrate with Jimmy Frantze and his team tonight, we are, in fact, honoring the past as much as we are toasting to the future. We now look forward to creating new memories, in this new space.
So go . . .visit Jimmy and his team at JJ's restaurant. Help pour some of your own positive energy into this place, Kansas City.
As for me, I'd just like to say, "Welcome back, Jimmy."
