The Drum Room is the hopping hotel bar located inside of the Hilton President. Aside from it’s rich jazz history, this bar as some serious bartenders behind the stick making memorable drinks. Chef Eric Carter is responsibly for the cozy and comforting food on the menu at the Providence New American Kitchen next to the Drum Room. The kitchen is more than happy to serve you food from their full menu inside the Drum Room. If you want your coffee in cocktail form, they make a fantastic end-of-the-night drink that will woo you. GET: “Teddy's Last Drop” which was Maxwell House coffee's slogan attributed to President Theodore Roosevelt. Enjoy coffee-infused ice cubes, Benedictine and Bourbon for $8.

André Bollier came to Kansas City from Switzerland in 1955 to open a Swiss Confiserie making only the highest quality confections. Almost 50 years later, the third generation Bollier, grandson, René, now runs the family business. Andre’s still makes, by hand, chocolate truffles, bonbons and bars, but this time of year, thoughts turn to drinks that warm the soul. Hot chocolate tops the list on cold winter days, and Andre’s makes their own. Pop into their chocolate shop and they’ll make you a cup to-go. GET: a cup of their smoothly sweet and creamy hot chocolate and it will come topped with their fresh whipping cream for around $4. Andre’s also sells their rich hot chocolate mix and for $17, so you can make it at home.

Imbibe Magazine’s Bartender of the Year, Ryan Maybee and Chef Howard Hanna opened The Rieger and quickly established themselves as a place known for serving the best craft cocktails in the city combined with an upscale, yet approachable, cuisine of made from local ingredients. But this time of year, those in the know, wait to hear when their creamy, boozy egg nog is back on the cocktail menu. The cocktail has a deserved following and is made in small batches which sells out quickly. Lindsay Laricks, the visionary behind all natural snow cones and popsicles in Kansas City, started her journey with her popular “Fresher than Fresh” snow cone trailer. With swift success and determination, the trailer quickly gave way to a brick and mortar called Little Freshie located in the up-and-coming Westside of Kansas City. With more room, she expanded her offerings from just snow cones to all natural sodas, coffee, pastries, cookies and sandwiches.
