The new Briarcliff Village up North might be the last place you would expect to enjoy “Treasures of the Sea”, but Trezo Mare delivers. These newcomers combine fresh seafood and inventive presentations. Chilled seafood platters look like sculpted art, a side of gnocchi is served in a ring of fire and “fruit de mar” is prepared in a large clay pot tanjine. A quite reasonable wine list is full of exciting and unusual choices. Prices sit around $35-40 per person. CLICK: Over to www.opentable.com and make reservations online to ensure yourself a seat.

Le Fou Frog is the standard by which all French restaurants in KC are measured. Small, intimate, family-run . . . part cabaret, part brassiere but always a traditional French restaurant full of charm and authentic atmosphere and food. French classics mix easily with exciting seasonal dishes that flaunt the short space between the restaurant and the Farmer’s Market located within kissing distance. Average entrée is around $25. The wine list speaks mostly French. COME: Late night and watch patrons dance with the staff in the bar, all in good fun.
